Radiohead In Rainbows Album Currently Number 2 In Album Charts

Radiohead’s In Rainbows album debuted in the UK album charts at number 1 for just one week, as it was knocked off the top spot by Amy Macdonald (which rised from its previous position of number 6).

Number 1 for one week was still a good feat by the In Rainbows album, considering the amount of people that had already downloaded the album online a few weeks ago (especially considering the amount of extra press and interest that there was in the album).

The In Rainbows album is currently number 1 on the USA album charts, and has been so for several days so far. Lets hope that the album can stay at number 1 in the USA, and that it can improve from number 2 in the UK chart as well.

On New Years Eve Radiohead broadcast their latest pre-recorded webcast on various formats, and it is now available to watch in its entirety on You Tube. The video is displayed below, and lasts around 50 minutes. (Tip - pause the video at the beginning and then wait for it to download before watching, that way the video won’t cut out much whilst it is still being downloaded - I hate to get interrupted whilst watching a good video )

Radiohead Currently Broadcasting In Rainbows Webcast

At the time of posting this Radiohead are currently broadcasting a previously recorded webcast showing them playing tracks from their latest album, In Rainbows.

If you visit the official Radiohead website you should be able to view the latest blog post which contains a link to another Radiohead website where you can watch the webcast online for free. There are two options to choose from, and therefore two links to use; one link is for Windows Media Player and the other is for Real Player.

It appears that the Radiohead In Rainbows webcast, titled Scotch Mist, lasted around 50 minutes as the current program seems to have come to an end.

Jigsaw Falling Into Place Video

Here is the video for Radiohead’s first single from the In Rainbows album, Jigsaw Falling Into Place. The video was directed by new Radiohead friend Adam Buxton, who has also helped the band with some of their latest webcasts (which we will be adding to the blog later).

In Rainbows Discbox Selling For Over £100 On Ebay

In the past few days the limited edition In Rainbows discbox’s were sold out on the Radiohead W.A.S.T.E website. They had been selling for around £40 per set, and as there was only a small supply of discbox’s made they have all since been snapped up by Radiohead fans.

This lack of In Rainbows discboxes has led to an increase in demand, and has led to some quite amazing prices on auction website eBay, which is quite surprising already as the discbox has only just gone out of stock. Some discboxes were selling for over £100 on the auction site, nearly 3 times their original price.

Though it does seem a little unfair that some people are already selling on their discboxes for a quite profit, at least the buyers will be happy with the content of their In Rainbows special edition discbox. I for one would much rather keep hold of the In Rainbows discbox, and saviour the quality of the piece rather than just sell it on for a little extra money.

In Rainbows Discbox Has Arrived

Today was a very good day - my In Rainbows limited edition discbox arrived in the post.

It comes in quite a hard protective cover, like a hardback book. It opens out neatly to show a booklet for the In Rainbows album, a larger book showing artwork for the album, and also has a compartment storing the vinyl version of the In Rainbows album.

Obviously it also contains the CD version of the In Rainbows album too, but more excitingly, it also contains a bonus disc (or disc 2) of the In Rainbows album! This contains 8 previously unheard of tracks, which I’m assuming are like B-sides to the In Rainbows album - they are in the same style of the album anyway. This extra bonus disc contains just under 27 minutes of excellent Radiohead material, which is sure to delight any Radiohead fan that made the purchase of the discbox.

In Rainbows Discbox Has Been Dispatched By W.a.s.t.e.

Today is a good day, I received an e-mail from Radiohead’s group W.a.s.t.e. telling me that my discbox has been dispatched, and should arrive within 8 days.

If you have forgotten already, Radiohead released In Rainbows as download only, from the Radiohead website. They also sold limited edition discbox’s on the website - which contain a CD, vinyl record, a book, any anything else they might decide to put in the package.

Release Date Of In Rainbows CD Album Announced

Radiohead will be releasing a physical copy of their In Rainbows album on the 31st of December 2007. The CD album will be released through label XL Recordings.

They have also announced that the track ‘Jigsaw Falling Into Place’ will be the first single released from the album, and this will be available to purchase on the 14th of January 2008.

Rumoured Album Cover Images For In Rainbows

From visiting other Radiohead fan sites, one piece of quite interesting news is that of the new album cover images for the In Rainbows cd.

It is unsure when In Rainbows will be released on CD, though it has been rumoured that sometime early next year, Radiohead will make a deal with a record producer and have their album available to purchase in the shops (at the moment it is only available to purchase and download digitally, from their website).
